You'll have to keep hold of him... that was so sweet. It makes me think that they aren't all bad after all... did someone mention a brother?
I had a bit of a spend as well... ordered a DVD box set. To be fair I had saved for it though, looking forward to it arriving this week. Hours of entertainment.0 -
What a lovely OH you have! I'm with all the others- don't beat yourself up, it's more important that you spent £20 getting home safely than scrimped and ended up stranded somewhere in the middle of the night. And stop giving yourself a hard time about being so drunk- we've all been there, some of us more times than we care to remember. If it makes you feel better we can all swap our "worst thing done when drunk" stories?!!Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24

Imelda wrote:So, who went mad at the weekend??
Mine was pretty bad, went out on free work drinks on Friday, I am usually quite controlled and leave at a reasonable time but for some reason I went loopy, and got sooooo drunk. I don't even remember leaving the bar.
I woke up feeling awful and just about recalled getting a taxi home, then it dawned on me, a taxi is £20!! That was my whole weekend budget blown. To make matters worse I am embarrassed to be at work, gawd knows what I said/ did, keeping a very low profile today.
You remind me of me, you did the sensible thing getting a taxi, I walked home the last time I had a drunken night, through a really rough area of town, and woke up with a subway sandwich in my bed! Thank goodness I woke up in my own bed with just a subway sandwich. I don't really want to think about where I could have ended up.
I had a good weekend. I worked all weekend as overtime and we got free lunch and teas and coffees all day, plus free parking. I did however buy a couple of bottles of red wine. My landlord/housemate cooked dinner for me on Sunday night so I bought the wine. But I made 4 days pay for two days work. So was a bonus weekend for me."Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it." (Montgomery, L.M.(1908). Anne of Green Gables.)

Well afetr all the hard work I have put in the last couple of months to get straight and have a bit for xmas I went out to watch Forest last Saturday as my mrs was at work and ended up spending 140 quid
To make it worse I went to Rotherham this Saturday gone and spent another 110
Gone so long being good and spending only half of that. The money I spent the last two weekends is what I used to spend every Saturday following my beloved football team abd is a major reason why I got in so much debt. I just hope I can not that for a long time again0 -
Imelda your OH sounds fab!! I massively overspent this week - I had a day off with my OH for the first time in aaages so we went out for lunch and shopping (but didn't buy anything) and had cake and nice glasses of wine. Then we went out for dinner, yum yum and we went to see one of our favourite bands and we had a fantastic time.
But it cost £60  so now I have to try to make it up on ebay/amazon. I think it was definitely worth it though:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Have to agree Imelda - you have a fab OH!!!
It's awful the guilty feeling though isn't it (although you did really well and made up for it with your cut backs in other places). I've been doing rubbish on my grocery shopping again and it's really makes me feel uncomfortable
Over the w/e we did ok I think, we went for 2 long walks/bike rides, one round a lake and the other through a nice forest so that was free. But spent extra unbudgeted on dry cleaning and tights and eyeliner for interview yesterday. Ho hum, hopefully it was an investment, not a waste!Debts @ lightbulb moment (13/06/2006) - £59,842.23  All commercial debts now clear!!! :T Debts April - £20,000 to family (incl extra £10k borrowed for house deposit). I agree your OH is wonderful, thoughtful and sensitive by the sound of it. And how sensible to get a taxi. Hey it isn't as if you used a credit card and had a blow out in Paris! You didn't even go over budget/overdrawn. AND you've you've now got a shiny clean bathroom. To make you feel better.... am so skint I don't even *have* a budget yet I still went out and blew money on clothes, putting them on my debt card.
Slowly sinking back into bad ways here.....
So be PROUD of yourself hon! And you did the right thing getting a taxi, absolutely.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
