Ticketmaster Problem Urgent

Hi All,

I bought myself a ticket for Roger Waters to see him perform the wall in June at birmingham. I bought my ticket just before christmas and have today recieved an e-mail from them as below.

Dear Ticketmaster customer,
This is an important email from Ticketmaster regarding your booking for the Roger Waters event at The NIA, Birmingham, on 27 June 2011.
It has come to our attention that due to an administration error, some of our customers were undercharged. The tickets were incorrectly priced at £60.00, plus £6.00 service charge, instead of £75.00, plus £7.50 service charge

If you do not wish to pay the additional cost and would prefer a refund, please contact us before 9 March 2011 by

I am amazed at the cheek can anybody tell me if they can do this or if I can complain (not to them as I have read so many thing about that that it is not worth while) I also love the way they have given me just 7 days to sort it out what if I was on holiday for two weeks what would happen then?

Please help if you can
Cheers

They made a mistake, and are entitled to correct it.

I have always thought that if you advertise something at a price then you as the consumer are entitled to pay that price? Otherwise you could advertise something for £10 then think I know what lets charge people £20 as lots of people are buying them?? You can’t do that surly.

In this case they made an "error".

Their ts + cs cover this. It seems they are acting exactly in accordance with the condition which you will have agreed when buying the ticket:
While we try and ensure that all prices on our website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of tickets you have ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price (and credit or debit your account as applicable) or cancelling your order. If we are unable to contact you, you agree that we may treat the order as cancelled. If you choose to cancel after you have already paid the incorrect ticket price for the tickets, you will receive a full refund from us.

    Agree with Quentin.

Your entitled to pay for it. They can collect the money but are also entitled to refund it and give you back your money if it was an error. Been done loads of time. Sorry not the answer you wanted to hear perhaps

Actually legally they can't charge more for it. That is if they have taken the money for it. Once payment has been paid then the retailer isn't legally allowed to ask for more money for the product. If they notice the change before the transaction is complete they can then request more money for it, if priced incorrectly.

They can try getting the money for it. OP have you received the tickets yet? If not you may have to be careful.

Also are you absolutely sure it's the same company you bought the tickets for? Made sure it's not a scam email to get your card details?

I saw this on a programme similar to watchdog where they acted it out. Someone bought an ipod for mis priced, paid for it. Then the 'retailer' (set up) asked for more money as it was priced incorrectly. But once payment has been taken then the contract between you and the retailer is complete and they have a legal obligation to let you have the product. I need to do some research on it though, find the law that backs it up. I just hope that consumer programme was right, otherwise it will make a fool out of me!

As Quentin says though, its in their Ts & Cs which you must agree to when purchasing from their site. If it wasn't in there then I think you would have a case but sadly it looks like they have every base covered.
