I think this is the problem from getting a dog from someone wanting rid of theirs. They are not going to say it is extremely aggressive with other animals, as this is probably the same reason they want rid of it, but deed has been done now and nothing can now be done on that respect.

O.P if you feel that you dont want to or cannot take the time/ want etc etc to try and re-train/live with the aggression, then i think the only sensible thing would be to put the dog into a rescue( find a proper breed rescue and offer to look after it until a home is found, is probably the best way., where it will get proper vetting and a home that maybe does not worry too much about dog/cat/ small furries aggression.

The reason i say this, is if your heart is not in it to train him then it will just be wasted time.

I have had dog aggressive dogs, didnt really bother me too much. you just find different ways of dealing with it, but not everyone can take this view. hope it all goes well for the little fella.

it just feels that no matter how much i am trying as soon as i go outside he plays up and tries to get anything that isn't human, i think its unfair on him to live his life like that. x

If you rehome him,he will still be like that. The only difference will be that he isn't your problem anymore :( Living with an aggressive dog is possible. It isn't always pleasurable, is rarely easy and requires a lot of commitment but is workable if you are willing to commit to your furry friend. :)

    Thought i'd update this -

we rehomed him with a man who had 40 ac of land and worked on a tractor all day, he now plays with 5 other dogs! we reckon
he didn't like being on a lead but i couldn't trust him not to go off a lead and bite another dog like the first time and the time at dog classes.

i'm going to start another thread regarding a dog we have been offered that i need some advice on.
