Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 3rd March. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Morning my lovlies :D

Bitterly cold here this morning, hard frost on the cars, but it promises to be a nice day later on :T the wm will be doing over time today.

I have the day off today, well I say day off, I have at least four hours of office work to do today, (still the cash will come in handy) and then I need to have a good clean through downstairs will do upstairs tomorrow, lots of washing to be done too.

Dinner tonight is an easy sausage chips and beans, I have a sainsbugs delivery coming tonight, and I have to take dd to an interview at a local cafe, fingers crossed she gets a weekend job.

Ok better get on, have good days all xx

    Morning all

Dry and overcast here, not sure about the temperature as haven't ventured out yet.

DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. I really enjoyed my outing to the theatre last night.

Dinner last night was chicken with various extras. Tonight we're having lamb casserole, did manage to remember to get the meat out of the freezer.

Am now on days off so have all the normal jobs to do, housework, washing, drying and ironing, changing beds, may go to the scales today. We're going away for weekend, but it's not far from where we live and it's to celebrate someone's birthday - there's a party on Saturday night, so should be a good one.

Will also need to do some baking at some point as the tins are empty!

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning everyone - back from my travels up and down the M1. Thinking it's frosty out but am not yet dressed. Had a very long sleep last night.

Fridge is empty, wine rack is looking a bit thin too so will have to get myself out for shopping after answering the hundreds of accumulated emails for work.

Left my electric toothbrush in one hotel so called in on the way home last night only to be told that I have to ring and speak to housekeeping today. The staff were lovely but it will mean another trip, but it's my one stupid fault - grrrrrrrrr :o

Only read yesterday's thread so haven't really caught up (don't think I ever catch up ~TBH~ but happy thoughts and days to you all.

    Morning All,

Bright and frosty here this morning. Sore head after all all my shouting and screaming at the football last night too :o The boys are school lunches today, my salad is made, boys are dressed, and I am about to make porridge and put a washing on - its never ending these days!

No real plans today for after work, DS2 has football and Cubs so its my run around night, DS1 has a victorian house to finish for school, so I'll be chivvying him along with that no doubt.

Diet is still going well, I can already see I have lost around my ribs, can't weight to do my weigh-in on Sunday or Monday. :D

    Morning all!

Must be cold here too, heating was on 11 degrees last night and has kicked in this morning!

Feeling quite perky today, after being exhausted yesterday when I got in from work, but I was sensible and had dinner, shower and went to bed, rather than faffing about! Think the excitement of my car may have worn me out lol - it's finally arrived for those who haven't seen me waffling on fb! It's lovely to have something reliable that doesn't require me turning the radio up full to drown out all the mysterious clunks and rattles!

Hoping to get to the garden centre this morning, but we shall see, might leave it till tomorrow rather than charging around before work, but the newsletter from our local one arrived yesterday and has so many things in that I'd like to investigate!

OS stuff today will involve usual DW, WM, drying, hoovering, tidying and S&S the kitchen, need to do a swoop round upstairs today and clear floors and hoover. Towels are currently the bane of my life, considering giving the kids just one each if they can't hang them up! Wondering about swapping their bathroom rad for a heated towel rail - any thoughts?

Working from lunchtime till 7pm today, so not too bad! Dinner tonight will be the curry I'd planned yesterday, then I ended up using up a tub of bolognese that had missed out on being put in the freezer, mixed with sweetcorn and kidney beans, and then layered with nachos, topped with mozzarella and cheddar and then just heated through in the oven. The kids love it as it looks like snack food, I love it as it is easy, and is stuffed full of veg (in the bolognese itself)! Pudding was the strawberries that dd2 had requested or apple pie, some of both left over so they can finish those tonight. dd3 opted for strawberries with custard last night - never seen that before lol!

Have a good day all xx

Morning Redruby, nmlc and all to follow,
No work today, so the blitz I felt coming on on Sunday MIGHT start today.

Grey and cold here today but I think the forecast is good for later so WM will go on in the hopes of using the line later.

Dinner tonight will be something from the freezer. DH made bread yesterday while I was at work. Will probably clear out any leftovers and make fridge soup.

So, all in all I see a quietish day ahead - might even try my hand at some baking!

Happy Thursday with hugs for those who need or want them, Silver x

    Morning All,

Thankfully its a little cooler here today, the last couple of weeks have been extremly hot and humid!

Ive done a couple of hours of ironing but still have more to do...job for tomorrow morning i think.

Havent done much else, just pottered around and tidied up a little.

Feeling a bit low today for no reason really, Hubs is planning a trip back to the UK for a week to see his family, i dont want to go due to issues on my side of the family but im also not looking forward to being home alone esp as its over easter weekend.

    Oh well, onwards and upwards.

    Have a great day everyone

de1amo some people can get through the down times without taking antidepressants, it just takes a wee bit of time, your wife comes across as a strong capable woman, give her some space and time to deal with it in her own way, her doctor will be watching and can push her to take the meds if things are getting worse. Are you OK yourself?
