    Unfortunately you can't do both.

    By the act of using Motor Codes you automatically appoint Motor Codes as
    conciliators and arbitrators, so if they leave you high and dry your only
    remaining option is to complain about your treatment by Motor Codes to the
    OFT.

    that means we cant take it to court if motor codes say no? trading standards said we can....

    Possibly -- I'd be wary of sites that charge for information that is freely available though.

    As an aside, I've fallen victim to the same thing as you, kind of. I've discovered that a main dealer did not change the tensioner and water pump on my Mitsubishi, 55000 miles ago :eek:

    And when I asked a different main dealer, they said the work wasn't necessary, even at 108,000 miles :mad:

    So your garage wasn't alone. I now recall that a Hyundai I owned some time back, on which I had the cambelt done, the tensioner wasn't done on that car either :(.

    Bit of a pattern developing here!
