Egg paid me out!

I put my PPI claim in last September, to be honest I nearly didn't do it! Then I got a letter just before the 40 days expiry period to say they were busy and wouldnt respond by the 40 days but of course i was welcome to go to the Ombudsman. So I left it a few weeks, then wrote saying that I was going to go to the Ombudsman if they didnt respond in 2 weeks. Last week I started on the form but got distracted so didnt finish it. Today at work I had a quiet time at around 5 (I finish at 5.30) so finished it off, printed it and put it in an envelope.
Got home (didnt have stamp, intending to post tomorrow), to be greeted by gas/elec bill, water bill and a letter marked 'Strictly Confidential' What now, I thought, opened it, and inside was a cheque with a letter from Egg paying out around £3500!!!!
Woop woop, nice glass of wine for me tonight... :T:T

Fantastic news. Mmmm, I've been not bothering with this myself. Maybe I should get on to it.

I am about to try to claim the mis sold PPI from Egg, do I complete the form and send it direct to Egg or to FOS. I am abit confused as to who to send the info too. Any advice would be helpful and the form link if possible. Many thanks.0

I just followed the instructions on here. Martin's instructions are really good, and I filled everything in and sent it off to Egg... then waited.
I got a letter back from them when the designated period was nearly up after I sent the claim in to say that they were very busy, and weren't going to make the deadline. I sat back for a few weeks to give them time to deal with it (it was Christmas), and then around the beginning of February sent them a letter to say that I would be forwarding my claim to the Ombudsman if they didn't respond within 2 weeks of the date of the letter. I started to put my Ombudsman template together last week, then finished it yesterday. I missed the post so left it in my handbag to post today at work.... when I got home there was a settlement letter and a cheque from Egg! Really not very difficult to do at all!0 -
Wow congratulations, you must have been paying a whopper of a PPI every month. I was successful to getting my DFS one back but only paid in £4.50 a month, so got a couple of hundred quid back. Hope your enjoying your wine.Food and Smellies Shop target £50 pw - managed average of £49 per week in 2013 down to £38.90 per week in 20160
