Best Operating system to load onto a new PC

am soon ot be buying a PC with no operating ststem on it, and wondered what seems to be the 'peoples choice' to use?

    It said on the box requires Windows 7 or better, so I bought a MAC

    I think this is a baiting thread :)
    If you know your way around linux then you will probably install that. If you don't you will install Windows.

    If you genuinely don't know the answer to the question - you need to go on a learn direct course on how to use a computer. Then install windows.

    I love XP so have a dual boot where I can pick to either load up Windows XP or Windows 7 they are both good.

    Stay well clear of Vista :)

    i never had an issue with vista so cant bad mouth it, xp is fine but its not widely available or you get windows 7,

    Thanks everyone, will XP run Office 2010? Have seen several brand new, unopened Windows XP discs on a certain auction site we all love to hate
