Ryanair Pushchair for 3 year old - Free? Online Check in?

Just what it says in the title really... I just wanted to check whether I could take a pushchair for my 3 year old free of charge, and whether I would still be able to check in online with this? I found on the Ryanair website that they take pushchairs for "infants" but I believe those are children under 2.

I have googled and found various horror stories of people being made to pay once they get to the airport. :(

You'd need to check the Ryanair T&Cs on their web site, but it wouldn't surprise me if they will charge.

Ryanair would charge you for your ears popping on descent if they could.

    The Ryanair website says:

There is no checked or cabin baggage allowance for infants. However, one fully collapsible pushchair per child is carried free of charge and does not need to be prebooked. If using online check-in, the pushchair should be taken to the Bag Drop desk to be tagged before going through security.

It says 'pushchair per child', looking on the booking screen Children are 'under 16'.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread...

But, just wondered if anyone could clarify this for us? We're travelling tomorrow, and I'd been told by the agent when we booked (not ryan air direct), that push chairs were ok for children. But, having mentioned to a friend, they said they weren't sure. Having read the Ryanair T&C's, I am still unsure, as it is ambiguous. On the T&C's, it says that you are allowed a free pushchair per child, but it discusses this in the infant section. However, as spire says above, an child is someone under 16... So, anyone who has flown recently, who can confirm either way whether it's free or not?

    Many thanks,

    David
  • lovelldr,
can you let us know how you fared? I'm travelling with Ryanair later in the year with a 2 year old, and as you say, it's a bit ambiguous on the Ryanair website.
    Thanks,

    Just arrived back home yesterday...

We flew from East Midlands to Palma. Had no problem either way with our pushchair. Our LO is 2.5 and had his own seat on the plane. Flying from East Midlands, we checked the pushchair in the oversized baggage compartment, and had our LO walking around with us. Was thinking probably a better idea to keep the pushchair with us though, as he was quite fidgety and sleepy, so would've been better keeping it with us, which we did in Palma, and they took it from us as we boarded the plane.

When we arrived in Palma, all pushchairs arrived on the baggage belt, but when we arrived back at east midlands, our pushchair (not sure about all, but there were a few) was waiting for us at the bottom of the plane...

But as I said, we had no problems at all, and didn't need to question it with them!

Hope this helps anyone else with questions :)

Hi Lovelldr - can I just check with you that you hadn't pre-booked your pushchair on the flight before going to the airport & that you just turned up at the check-in desk with it? Thanks

Yes, confirm that we hadn't pre-booked it...

Flew from East Mids, and just turned up with the pushchair. Could then check it in, or carry it round with us, and they'd take it off us when we got to the plane...
