I just set up an account prepay card with https://www.clearcash.co.uk/

They have GREAT reveiws and paypal freindly although it may take a few extra days for paypal money to appear on cad.. you transfer it onto the clearcash card same way as you would withdrawing to a bannk account.
PLUS you can use it for any purchase and ryanair accept it for payment with no fees!! they charge most other cards!

Some great feedback on it- I think this is the next best thing tbh. x

Had an email today regarding the new card...sound like it will be alot better if you ask me

Your PayPal Top Up Card ends on 31 March 2011 and we're pleased to offer you the new PayPal Access PrePaid MasterCard® in its place. We'll take care of everything for you, all you need to do is:

Spend your Top Up Card balance by 31 March, or we'll refund it to your PayPal account – you can check your current balance by logging in now with your PayPal Top Up Card details

We will send your new card to the same address as your original Top Up Card. If your address has changed, you can update it now by logging in to the PrePay Technologies site using your PayPal login details

Wait for your new PayPal Access Card in the post – there's no need to apply. We will be in touch mid April to give you more information about the new PayPal Access Card
The new PayPal Access Card can give you instant access to your PayPal account, with no need to top up. You can use it to withdraw cash, shop online or on the high street, anywhere MasterCard cards are accepted. If you don't wish to receive a PayPal Access Card, just log in now to let us know.

    (Gulp!) Access?

Some of us may remember Access cards, effectively the UK MasterCard before MasterCard was launched in the UK. Access later merged with MasterCard. I didn't think I would see Access-branded cards again.

'Takes the waiting out of wanting'. Indeed.
  • Orange does a pre-pay card - and you don't have to be a customer I think.

I don't see how you can transfer funds from paypal to this card - there is nowhere to input your card number - just sort code and account number.

Sounds like 'theoretically' clear cash say you can do it manually, I'm not convinced that Paypal would actually do it though!
  • From what i understood you had access to your paypal account from the new Paypal card so didn't have to transfer directly onto it.

Don't know about the new Paypal card (yet), but it appears that the clearcash card are reliant on you talking to paypal to get them to manually set it up in their systems.
