carpet vax what shampoo?

i have a vax and wanted to wash the carpets in the house. what can i put in the VAX instead of buying the specific shampoo?

I used stardrops a few weeks back and it worked quite well.

I've used stardrops and it actually worked better than the real stuff:D Do add a capful of fabric softner though as the bubbles will overwhelm you otherwise!!

I have an upright Vax carpet cleaner and have just run out of the cleaning fluid. :rolleyes:

I was thinking I may be able to use something a bit more OS - has anybody tried using stardrops or something else in their machine? - it can't be anything that will foam up too much though.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

We used a couple of drops of fairy liquid!! Honest. Carpets very clean!!

hi,
what do you all use instead of vax shampoo???
because most things i have tried always foam up.......and a residue always gets left behind.
would love to hear your suggestions as my beige carpet is begining to look dark grey:eek:
