Might be easy, but it doesn't appear to do what the OP needs it to do.
He needs a DVD ripper.0 -

A vob file is mpeg-2, so you just rename the file extension from.vob to .mpg0

This one will do the job, and many other formats for free as well:

Perhaps not the best user interface, but pretty straightforward to use provided you don't need help.
Freeware and it also includes all the codecs you'll need.0 -
if you are trying to burn it to DVD, use nero etc. if you have it. If you are trying to watch it on a pc, you can either rename it as already suggested and media player should play it, or download media player classic or vlc playerEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Great software for putting DVDs onto my portable media center - but a bit slow and the sound level is barely adequate. Anyone know how to boost the volume level?.0 -
I did just buy VSO for £24.00 and its absolutely superb I did try AVS Tools but it duffed up a blank DVD disc as where VSO just makes life so easy.

I've done that with clips- it plays OK as it is but when I put it into any editing program intending to trim it (as it's too long ) - I then lose the sound completely.

What program are you using to edit?
I always use TMPGEnc and just work directly from the vob files without renaming them0
