    Because the machine also seals the envelopes. If it tried to seal your one but it didn't fully seal, then another letter was stuffed in it, it would try and seal the envelope again (thinking it was another envelope). Could be why it looks like it wasn't fully sealed.
    I can't believe how obvious that sounds.:rotfl:
    Thankfully I've finished all qualifications and done well so they can't be seized for any length of stupidity :rotfl:
    Thank you for your help. Nipping down to the corner shop now, to get a stamp and send the right letter to the original owner. :T
