..........and this is news because? Not exactly unexpected is it?
O well, on with the motley, bloody French they have never forgiven us from saving them after they had given up during the last war, now they are attacking our fuel poor, and those who thought EDF were top of the pops on the comparison sites:rotfl:That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Standing charge is a relic from the past come back - or have the other companies doen this as well? Sounds like insurance against people using less fuel.0

Yes, another pointless, silly article. And out of date - the cheapest deals have been bumped up to £1000 per year, not £900.
As to standing charges all suppliers have been doing similar restructures (even if not with daily standing charges) and have been hitting customers with low consumptions hard.0 -
and if you dont have a standing charge - then its tiered tarrifs with low users getting the highest charges.0

Beats me why people by EDF electricity, as when I went to France they only had 110volts and my travel kettle took ages to boil. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

I had to laugh at the headline 7.5% rate - when I checked our consumption/existing rate against their new charges, it's a 17% jump.
Which does make me wonder if this is yet another EDF !!!! up0 -
I am an EDF customer and have been for a while. When I was notified by them about the price increases I went back to them and negotiated a better deal. Believe me it can be done do not take my word try it yourself you have nothing to lose except paying more:j:)Greybytes0

Worked out our hike at 7.5%.... still cheaper than British Gas was after the hike (we switched in November), and got the whole winter at EDF's cheaper rate so not too fussed. We'll be switching the heating off in a few weeks anyway! Plus the £180 cashback we got to join EDF more than offsets the hike (£59.40 a year at our current usage). Still glad we moved!
