NFU gave me an extremely competitive quote when I was in Scotland ... Then when I told them I was moving to Manchester, they said they couldn't cover me there.

im with nfu for my car insurance atm.. they were slightly cheaper than others and wanted no deposit which was great.. just 11 equal payments.
no admin fees to change over insurance either.. so bonus..
i feel they are good.. never had to claim or anything so cant say what they are like for paying out..

I was with NFU for around 10 years, they were the cheapest renewal the year after my first car was stolen. However they have a bad habit of cheerfully bumping up your renewal every year until you realise you could get the same cover way cheaper elsewhere. Pays to shop around.

They all do that whoever your with to try and recouperate what they have lost shelling out to you! It is disgusting no doubt!

Its like the old excuse they had a bad winter giving out handouts to THEIR own clients! Like thats what they are suppose to do and whole point of insurance!!!!! Then oh,instead of affecting the profit/loss account and take a drop in salaries maybe? Well the BIGWIGS think, sod that i want my Cruise 5* this year so my performance rating will take a tumble so better boost the balance sheet by topping it up and taxing out already overpaying client base with more cost!:T

Swift could be now the best i think depending on location!

Why do you keep bringing politicis into it? They are private companies and can charge what they like. Politics have little to do with it. Dont like it? Dont drive, or get a lower group car.

If you honestly think you can offer premiums for your car for £40-£50 a month get with the business buzz (using your economics!) and set up your own insurance company.

If there were no uninsured drivers and no fraudulent claims... that'd help for starters on insurance premiums :)
