Tax credit letter

Had a strange letter from them today. Stating that we may receive an addition payment alongside our normal payment, this month. Stated that it might not be on the normal day we receive payment. It then goes on to say we won't have to pay it back but it might mean slightly reduced payments until end of April, obvious the renewal day. The letter then explains this is so they can organise their computers and systems for next year ( obviously financial year)!

I'm not particularly concerned about the letter. Just wondering what it is really about and if anyone else has received one?

yes we had one at the beginning of January, then we had a payment of £4.40 and the next two regular payments were slightly reduced, but we ended up getting in total about £3 more than we were expecting. I expect they'll try and claim it back as an overpayment at some point....

Thousands of people received this same letter way back in November/December time of last year . The same reason for the letters was given then (computer systems getting ready for the new tax year) .

I personally got a payment and all subsequent payments have been reduced by about £13 .

There is a thread about this matter.....maybe someone could link it for the OP as I am unsure how to?
