If the landlord had the roof repointed do you think maybe there was a leak that could have soaked into the walls?
I have lived here for 24 years and there was never a problem for me with damp or condensation unless I close the windows at night then the water runs down them, however about four years ago in the soil stack where loads of pipes run, a water pipe must have started to leak, this went unnoticed for many, many months, there was no pool of water anywhere but it was dripping and running along a wall and getting soaked up. I started to see mould on walls and a white furry growth in the downstairs toilet, two rooms away from the leak, then I saw mould outside and eventually found this leak. despite all cleaning, heating, windows open it took two years before the mould stopped reappearing and I've only just repainted the walls as before was a waste of time.0 -

No, it most certainly isn't. Mould can be a very serious health-hazard for adults never mind small children. EH may insist on the landlord getting these issues addressed and can impose penalties if they don't but the LL could be minded to give you your notice in return. Quite honestly I'd be making definite plans to get the hell out of there before you have to face another winter in that health-trap house.0

if he serves us or notice that will only be 4 weeks we can't possibly gather up enough to move by then
so then our ownly option will be to make him evict us legally to give us more time i really don't want that sort of thing to happen

no it's 4
becase i was thinking about it earlier and he said we had to give him 4 weeks and he he had to do the same, ofcourse if we'd acually signed an agreement i could have checked this
, all my houses have been 4 weeks aswell i think it might be slightly diferent over here than the mainland, i've been renting for 7 years now and altho my first 2 houses were the same landlord and then 2 others before this they've all been 4weeks
