Just downloaded IE7

And now my words/writing on the screen has gone all strange making my eyes go funny can I change the font or sharpen the letters up?

Thanks,

Pete.

Anyone know how to change icons in ie7. IE7 has changed all my folder icons from my choice to it own icon. When you right click on the folder and choose properties then choose change icon it all seem to work and the chosen icon is shown in preview but when you click on apply you just revert to the IE7 icon.

    That's a very useful page!

I wonder if there is another page which will explain to me why my IE7 download knocked out the manufacturer's software on my brand new Acer laptop ...

In addition, whenever XP closes, I get a window popping up headed WindowsFormsParking, and I have to click on "End now" or similar for the machine to switch off. (I am aware that some HP printers cause this problem, but I don't have one).

If anyone has any cures, do tell. Thanks.

I didn't like it to start, but if you:

    Ignore the tabs
    Ignore multiple home pages
Turn off checking for phising sites (hits performance)
Turn back on the Links, status and menu toolbars (right click at the top)
    Select large Icons

...then it's almost the same as IE6 to use - you just need to remember the new location for HOME and Refresh etc.

It's worth doing though, becuase printing works much better than IE6 in my experience.
  • I really like it!
  • I can't live without tabs. They take some getting used to, but it's much easier having one browser window open with half a dozen tabs than having your task bar cluttered up with six IE windows.

You can download the Cleartype Tuner from MS's web site, which will enable you to play around with the font settings. ClearType is so much better than normal fonts, especially if you own an LCD display.
