hello!
We have just booked to go from belfast to newark this year with continental airlines with our 2 year old son. He will be 2 years old at the time of travel so we have had to pay for a seat for him.
Question is what baggage allowance does he get get?
Can't find the answer on their website or a contact phone number (all seem to be US numbers) unless I am being stupid.
Thanks!

If you've paid for a seat then he gets a normal baggage allowance as a fare paying passenger'
Nothing to specifically say this - the only thing the website says relates to under twos sitting on your lap - their baggage allowance is effectively a push chair or similar.0 -

Yes - I couldn't find anything either thought I was going mad.
Take it I can take a push chair for free on top of the baggage allowance?0 -

Your son will get the same allowance as you.
23kgs that is if you are flying ecomony.
An easier read is http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Continental_Airlines/baggage.php
This site also lets you know what seats are good to try and prebook, althought it will always say bulk heads are good but these cannot generally be pre booked.I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

Hi, just as a word of advice - I've flown a similar continental flight before (Manchester to Newark) and I would say that you need to take plenty to do on the plane - particularly things to keep your little one amused.
Unless its changed a lot, I remember them not having seatback displays for films, so do take everything that you need to be entertained for several hours!0 -

also you won't be able to sit in an emergency exit row with a young child0 -
you get the full allowance as mentioned, we paid for a seat for our son when he was 18 months on a non direct flight to the US, on the second leg of our journey the plane was empty but the steward came up to me and said "your son can sit in one of the seats after take off, but we may not have a meal for him as we only have those for fee paying passengers" bet you can imagine how the conversation went after that !!0

We are travelling prem economy to NY in April, that being 2 adults 1 child 1 infant. Daughter who will be 18 months at time of travel eats normal food not baby food. I enquired about organising a child meal for her, but as non fee paying she isnt allowed to have a meal.
They said i could have jars of food for her but thats 12 months or under. She will kick off when the food comes and my son will be eating the child meal. I even offered to pay for it but couldent.
What a joke.I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
