I had the same email as well and after advice on here phoned them as to why I got this email. The person I spoke to had no idea and as someone said on here Amazon are going to be claiming for loads of lost parcels from Royal Mail.I had 2 parcels missing from amazon and also 1 from ebay. All blaming the snow but the rest of my buys that same week managed to get here.0

Seems like Royal Mail are going to be in with a large bill then, why Amazon don't track items I have no idea would make things easier for them when something like this happens even if it was just over Christmas. I think I have learned a big lesson last Christmas and to be even more organised and order before December!Working to be debt free by September 2014

because on the economies of scale, just tracking them adds up to a big bill for Amazon
its all about finding the cheapest method that works most of the time0 -
Yes I suppose it is a bit of a nightmare I order so much stuff from them this is the first time something has gone missing so suppose it must work 99% of the time.Working to be debt free by September 2014

I have had the same email too. What concerned me was the wording " We believe that you have now received the delivery and we request that you confirm your intention" Why would they believe that? Why not just ask has it been received? the implication is that they have information that the item has been received, when it appears that they are merely on a fishing exercise. Additionally, if they get no response they are intending to charge the payment card anyway.
I just think it smacks of slightly underhand tactics.0 -
I had the same email today too, item not arrived presumed lost somewhere0

Same email.
I'm not too happy with the wording, implying that I've effectively stolen the £4.49 book which never arrived.
This is the first contact from them since I started using Amazon around 6 years ago and the first item to get lost - Not the first time Royal Mail have lost something either..
I ordered 2 items at the same time with Amazon - one turned up, the other didn't.0 -

I agree the wording could have been better but I do think it is a sign of the times when it comes to customer service via email.Working to be debt free by September 2014Worked in Travel for 10 years so happy to help with any query!
