Cillit Bang - Tiles ruined but followed instructions

I'm so angry that even after following the instructions on the Cillit Bang bottle it has ruined my new bathroom tiles.
It says test on a small surface, I did, it was fine. I then proceeded to use it around the shower on my matt black tiles, now they have exact spray marks and white streaks - I'm devastated!
I've re-read the bottle and i'm sure the way Cillit Bang avoid all responsibility is because they say don't use on 'acid sensitive surface' - how would I know if that's my tiles? It clearly states it's for use on ceramic floor and wall tiles and that's what I used it on.
I've read that lots of other people have experienced problems like this and would welcome any suggestions of how I could try and fix the tiles but I would also welcome people to complain - it's completely unacceptable to sell a product that could even cause such damage and advertise it as being suitable.
I'm going to complain to Sainsbury's who sold it to me and directly to Cillit Bang - also to watchdog.
We must have rights and not just accept such misleading products?

You're probably better off posting this in the consumer rights forumYou may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
I had a similar problm with Cillit Bang Universal Degreaser. The bottle has a picture of a full oven on the label, but when I used it on the oven console it took away the shine. I have logged onto the Cillit Bang website and can no longer find the exact product. I have complained to the manufacturers and am getting the run around - has anyone else had a problem with the spray bottle of Universal Degreaser?0

do you have any spare tiles left over from when the bathroom was done?
If so, maybe you could give one of them a spray and when it gets damaged take it into a the place the tiles were purchased from and ask their advice.
They may be able examine it and tell you exactly what the problem is.0 -
Are they ceramic tiles or are they something like slate?0

Bang! And the tiles are gone!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Actually that's not very sympathetic is it, and I'm trying so hard not to be an arse....
You followed the instructions and performed a test. It's a shame that this didn't show the likely problem, but you still did it. You also used the product on tiles that is says are OK to use it on. Your stumbling block will be the disclaimer regarding 'acid-sensitive surfaces' and they might well argue that it's up to you to know this ahead of using their products.
The best you can do is write to the manufacturers and Sainsbury's. Your contract's with the retailer of course, but in this instance I should imagine they'll just refer you straight to the fabulously named Reckitt Benckiser (who make Cillit Bang apparently) so keep them both in the loop. Explain what's happened and see how you get on."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
I've just noticed that the original question was asked back in March, so it may well be that something has already been sorted out.
(maybe if the OP is reading this they could give an update).0 -
Or, if the OP ever comes back, try one of the outraged redtops consumer pages, publicity may get attention?0

Applied Cillit Bang to my bath, washed it off with water, the bath coating came off in streaks with the water, leaving me with a green bath with white streaks on it.
Reckitt Benckiser not helpful, any suggestions?
