Yes I get housing benefit. ex mil knows this and has no problem with it.. shes more happier that I am in a bigger place for her grandchildren. Aslong as she gets the rent she wont mind how I am getting it. I pay my current landlord by standing order... has been tough.. but has taught me a few things. I work from a strict excel sheet that I create a year in advance lol. So I work out when I get my housing benefits.. which income support payment I will use towards the next rent.. and I work it out so the housing benefit is kept in my bank (say this month they paid me on the 2nd.. but rent wasnt due until 22nd).. and the nearest income support gets added to it.. so I check excel daily to make sure I dont mess it up.* Mummy to my 2 gorgeous and amazing boys *0

You need to make sure that they will still pay your HB as it could be classed as a contrived tenancy. Has she previously rented out the house? would she go through court to evict you if you didn't pay?0 -
It is strictly landlord and tenant. she has been advertising for the last month to rent it out. She is using proper tenancy agreements, has just redecorated the entire house and done safety checks that comply to rent it out. i would not of considered it, if it was a family thing. and certainly wouldnt be paying as much rent as is charged either!* Mummy to my 2 gorgeous and amazing boys *0

Also if you have lived there before, were you claiming housing benefit at the time? these are all questions you will be asked before housing/local allowance will be granted.
Due to the changes in LHA in april, please make sure that the rent that she is charging is covered, especially if you have more bedrooms than the council say you are entitled too.0 -
yes i lived there before and was paid housing benefits. they asked no questions.* Mummy to my 2 gorgeous and amazing boys *0

SM2, you will need to give notice before March 22 to move out by April 22, by the look of it. Leave any earlier and the LL can claim the unpaid rent from you.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
