  • Managed to make the deposit! Yay!

Need to check online saver to see if DH money has gone in - if so that will be another £108 to add to the fund and the total will be fully back on track after the sad expenditures of last year.

I have also received confirmation of our energy swap cashback - which should be in the bank next week - another £30 to add to the pot. (Considering its January, we are not doing bad so far - you watch it all come to a halt now lol).

Mr T shop was about £5.

Meal out on Friday was fab - great food as always and a nice relaxing time with DH. We still have £20 left in the pot for a cheap and cheerful sometime...

Had a lovely breakfast out yesterday, paid for by a friend of mine.

We also had our fab HM Duck with Plum Sauce last night - delish and finally watched 'Day of the Doctor'.

From next week, will be incorporating a few more healthy meals into the plan - not that we eat too badly anyway, but there is a need to stuff a bit more fruit and veg down us.

The alcohol level has been fairly low and will be dropping further - but I really can't say that I will give up for January - I usually find that if I cut down to a minimum, it virtually gets cut out altogether anyway - fingers crossed.

Busy week ahead for Charity stuff; directors report, 1 x bid (start outline), minutes from last meeting, start gift aid claims and sort out society lottery return from our raffle. Allocating 2 lunch times and a couple of hours next Saturday to get this done.

Hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday. Taking tree and decorations down this afternoon - good to get back to normal, but always sad whilst taking them down.

I must admit that I haven't been an avid watcher over the last few years (when I first saw Matt Smith I wasn't impressed!), but I enjoyed it - it was certainly different to what I expected.

    Nice bit of escapism.

Grocery shop at Mr T was actually £3.94. What was confusing was all the birthday cards I had to buy (which come out of another budget).

Need to get cheap cat biscuits (for my stray cat) and a courgette on the way home.

DH is doing something with his mates drums later, so won't be back till late.

Planning to do a little charity work, make fruit compote for my porridge for the rest of the week, roast some veggies for tomorrow night's tea (I will sterilise a jar in the residual heat as I am transferring my un-used mincemeat to a smaller kilner jar for storage purposes) when I get home.

Also need to check online saver account for deposits.

Salmon with creamy dill sauce for tea - lovely meal that's quick and easy to do once DH gets home.

Hope everyone's Monday is going well.

Just checked online saver and neither mine or DHs regular deposits have gone in this month.

I wonder if it had something to do with the fact I couldn't make the 'faster payment' - from my online banking it looks like my deposit will go in next month, so will have to make a manual transfer. This is going to please DH no end as he has to go into the bank to sort out any transactions (another argument for online banking!).

Cashback from energy switch hasn't arrived yet either - but that could be anytime this week.

Didn't get any charity work done, but did have a while in the kitchen last night sorting roasted veggies for tonight's tea and stewing the LO fruit for my porridge!

Manic at work as we have a supplier closing at the end of the month and its all hands to the deck to get stuff resourced.

So, tonight's tea is Lamb & Mushroom Tagine with Roasted Veggies and Cous Cous. Lamb is LO lamb from NYD dinner that I popped in the freezer.

    Happy hump day everyone!

Tea was delish last night - and got some roasted veggies left over to make some soup for tomorrow's lunch!

£10 charity donation to a cancer charity yesterday.

Need to check bank to see if cashback has gone in and to make manual transfer to savings.

Tonight's tea is Chicken wrapped in Pancetta, stuffed with mushrooms and sage - plus roasties and veggies.

£1.91 spent in Mr T earlier in the week and really need to get some bread and something for DH's sandwiches for tomorrow - so quick visit to the shops later.

Hope I will be better organised next week.

Hope everyone's week is going ok.

Would have made the soup - but had run out of tinned tomatoes - doh! what's that all about!

    £3.30 spent in Mr T.

Mealplan fully completed for next week and shopping list made - hopefully there will be no more extra spends during the week this time.

Herr A tonight and Mr T tomorrow armed with coupons.

DH has suggested we go shopping tonight??? - don't know whether I will or not as I detest the sales - will see how I feel.

£30 cashback from energy club has been deposited in my account and duly transferred. Also transferred my regular savings deposit manually - just got to remind DH to do his and then I can update both pots.

Tonight's tea (whether we go shopping or not) will be Turkey Stroganoff - Turkey from freezer, LO sour cream and only a few veggies to buy.

Gradually getting through the contents of the fridge and I think I may have even made the smallest of spaces in the freezer! lol.

  • No shopping for me last night! And DH came back with nothing anyway!

Made the soup - its delish (just eating a bowl now) - got a portion left for Monday's lunch too - not bad for LO veg, a tin of toms, veg stock cube and a couple of teaspoons of pesto.

DH gave me £35 to put in the account last night??? Oh well, will depositing shortly. DH will be manually putting his deposit into the savings tomorrow.

Off to Wales on Sunday and I am making pudding to take down - another choc brownie - haven't had to buy anything to make it - and may put some baileys truffles in it.

Had to ask St Anthony for help this morning - mislaid my passport - and I know that it would have bugged the hell out of me if I hadn't found it (especially as the last time I used it was for ID when hiring a carpet cleaner!!!!!!). Thank you to St Anthony for concentrating my mind!

Tonight's tea is a feast! Using up bits (or some bits) that I bought for Christmas picks - we have mini sticky ribs, breaded mushrooms, southern fried prawns, chicken bites, duck spring rolls, thai fish cakes, lemon pepper fish goujons and scampi. Going to make a salad, warm some pitta breads and put out some HM Dip.

Won't be cooking everything I've got, just a few of each. Everything is frozen - so another feast will probably be on the menu at the beginning of next month.

Looking forward to laying everything out on the table, sticking some music on and enjoying an evening of chat and food with DH.

Happy Friday everyone and have a great weekend.
