installation of wood stove?

Have finally decided to install a wood stove to combat rising gas prices. Currently have an open fire, so chimney is there (1960s bungalow). Was quoted today installation cost of aprox. £1500. Has anyone recently had one fitted and is this a vaild price? Having more quotes, but always good to know what others have paid!

quote was for chimney lining and stove installation. Not including price of stove. Hearth would already be sorted so that's not included either.0

we were quoted £3000 so did it in bits myself. having said that the guy that quoted did not know what was behind the gas fire.
