hmm, hydrogen generators have been debunked many times, use bbc i player and search for "university challenged" if you still think they work, and water is NOT a good idea to put into your cylinders, water is a fluid , you cannot compress a fluid(this is how hydraulics work), if you cant compress it and its in your engine cylinder when the piston comes up to compress it(as it would with the air/fuel mixture) you will destroy your engine, a well known problem known as "hydraulicing" , many diesel engines in off road flooded conditions have sucked water in the air intake and destroyed themselves, however there is a system known as "aquamist" which injects a fine water spray in order to cool the intake, maybe thats what your referring to?

Its very MSE , I was just doing a spreads sheet and I could save about £3000 a year!

True, but only if MSE stands for Moronic Stupid Eejit.

If OTOH, you're talking about MoneySaving then you'll be wasting £15 on a glorified PDF file, plus whatever you spend on the actual kit, which at best will save you nothing and at worst will knacker your engine.

BTW I know a Nigerian prince that needs your help and will play you 15% of his fortune if you help him shift it funds out of Nigeria.

I know off a couple of Libyans looking to do similar but will give you 25%!

Petrol is also a fluid, and this goes into piston engine cylinders okay.

Water injection (usually a mix of water and methanol/alcohol into internal combustion engines used to be fairly common with aircraft (mainly piston, but can be used on turbine engines), and greatly improves the efficiency of the engine, especially when used in a high ambient temperature environment. (so can give far more engine power when most needed such as on take off in hot areas).

It cools the fuel mixture, (and something that cools down also becomes more dense) allowing a higher quantity of fuel into the cylinder, and also cools the cylinder walls.
Adding water also increases the power output due to the rapid expansion of the vapour into steam, which giver the engine a higher torque output.
The percentage of water is carefully controlled, and is not high enough to prevent combustion.

This thread has to be a wind up, think Tod is quite fond of winding people up.

was just reading about a conversion kit that cuts petrol use by 50% mixing it with water vapour , seems legit , anyone doing this yet?

Lord above! There's nothing new under the sun!

This kit was being sold in the 70's, and I think the man who was selling it, got into legal trouble over his claims. Can't remember now, whether he went to court, or whether he was penalised, but the kit disappeared after that.

If you pick yourself up by your own bootlaces, you save money on shoe leather. (How you make progress is anyones guess! (:-D)

I think, in the 70's, the idea was, that if you put an air bleed into the intake manifold, you would have a vacuum source to connect to a water supply. This drew in small quantities of water as vapour, and as water created steam, it was reckoned the steam expansion was greater the the petrol vapour expansion, and you got more power from the engine. Less throttle needed for the same performance.

Of course it turned out to be a load of carp and the creator was in the papers for months TRYING to defend his claims. The product disappeared from sight though.
