Volkswagen - Terrible Dealer Service

thank you for your replies.
I have arranged for a test drive in Perth which is about 40 miles from here. Most garages in Edinburgh are rather indifferent, except for the Kia Longstone Road dealer - they were great.
We ended up buying another car from Arnold Clark in Glasgow.
When I am spending a very large sum of money on an item, I expect to be treated very well.An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

Personally I'd just go in there and tell him reasonably loudly (in front of all his staff) that his customer service and his attitude stinks, that he is a very poor two bit salesman and he's just lost out on a large chunk of commmision as you've already taken your business elsewhere.
Gets it off your chest without the bother of writing a letter.
That will make his day"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

Thank you, that sounds excellent:D
We were pretty vocal at the time and the rest of the showroom, customers included, heard our fury at this idiot. We are not shy with these people and they live to regret crossing us:D
We want to alert Head Office so they know what is going on at their dealershipsAn average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

the best thing you can do is to tell as many people as you can about your bad experience. I dont think your going to get any joy from VW head office as car manaufacturers have little control over their francisees (as strange as it sounds). Most car dealers are the same good ones are very few and far between. I guess that salesman had met is targets for the month so could'nt care less about you, next month may have been a different story. Oh, and never trust a car sales man as far you could throw him - I've learnt from experience.0

Early last year I was changing my car and had thought about a VW Golf (even though I generally do not like German cars). To me the staff were aloof and had the attitude "it is a VW if you don't buy it someone else will". As a test I always ask the dealer to phone me if he gets a good second hand one in (although I always buy new) .. simply to see what their CS is like ... almost 2 years later I am still awaiting his call. Was not impressed with the dealership at all.
IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -

They even said, we limit the numbers made so we create a demand.
It will backfire. I remember this attitude with some companies in the 80s who have since had problems. An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

VW have that attitude. Try negotiating a group discount! They don't give as generous a discount as other companies as they say they're much more sought after. Ford are much more aggressive in pricing.
CCstar is your Arnold Clark vehicle a brand new vehicle or used approved? Just wondering on what the condition of their vehicles is like.matched betting: £879.63
