Volkswagen - Terrible Dealer Service

We are interested in taking a test drive in the new Eos and wish to buy it outright cash, subject to us liking it upon test driving it.
We made an appointment to test drive it a couple of weeks ago.
We turned up today and said they sold the car, yet didn’t inform us that they were unable to let us drive one. The person was off sick and no-one was professional enough to inform their customers about this.
The man – we assume is the manager was very arrogant towards us about it and not at all professional or caring about us making a special trip to do this. In fact he implied we were in the wrong.
He has given us a very bad impression of Volkswagen.
Does anyone know the address of Head Office so I can register this complaint? I have looked on the website and nothing.

The man was the typical dreadful car salesman who thought he was a God.

Found this on the VW UK website
"What is the contact address for Volkswagen UK?
Yeomans Drive
Blakelands
Milton Keynes
MK14 5AN"
I would just write them a letter explaining the facts, some people really do need to learn some manners VW, Gorgie Road, Edinburgh!0 -
We have a Golf and are happy wiith it. However, we do not use UK dealers for servicing. Once a year, we drive just over the Dutch border into Germany and get it serviced there. It is about 1/4 of the price for the same service here in the UK. Sometimes, they don't even charge for fixing minor things like wipers etc. Always, incredibly friendly and helpful. The savings pays for the entire holiday plus.
I like the Name and Shame suggestion by Mac.FREEDOM IS NOT FREE0 -
Burn the showroom down with him inside. That'll learn 'em. ;-)
Seriously though, I heard that someone keeps targetting the Lexus dealer near where my parents live. Someone is turning up on a regular basis and putting all the windows through. Why they haven't been caught yet, I can only imagine. But it wouldn't surprise me if it was some load£d geezer that turned up one day in an old t-shirt and jeans and got assholish treatment from the salesman...

my OH has a golf, and the local dealer is a waste of time, very very rude, and even charging for things they didn't do. We now drive 30 miles to another dealer for servicing. Much better service. When we told them of our experiences we were told we're not alone and they get a lot of business from our area.0

Complain to VW, I know of one terrible VW dealer who lost their franchise and it has to be said that the replacement dealership is absolutely wonderful.
I have the feeling that VW do take the matter seriously... they know that poor dealers means lost sales..."One thing that is different, and has changed here, is the self-absorption, not just greed. Everybody is in a hurry now and there is a 'the rules don't apply to me' sort of thing." - Bill Bryson0 -
I had some problems with a VW dealership, complained to head office, they said to write to them dealership, which I did but didn't resolve anything, they just argued over everything and got me nowhere. Head office weren't too bothered after that as the dealership told them the issue was resolved and closed.
Shame as 2 other dealerships have given me excellent service in the past.2p off is still 2p off!0 -
VW dealers are notoriously terrible across the UK. Especially Listers VW. They are great at not servicing your car properly, not changing the oil when they say they have and topping up your washer bottle for £3, even when it was full before it went in!.
(infact I think alll dealers do the washer fluid scam. Top it up before you go in and watch as they bill you to top it up. It may only be £3 for washer detergent but I bet they all add up.
My employer provides VW company cars and over 7 years I've had my cars serviced in a varietey of VW dealers and they are all the same. Overpriced, shady in their dealings with you, limited customer service/customer experience, very aloof attitudes towards the customer.
When I left my employer, got a Skoda instead. Skoda dealers are much better, more friendly and explain everything to you as well as not ripping you off.
In the JD power surveys and their like, VW dealers rarely scrape off the bottom of ther chart.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0 -
Our local VW dealers (Dartford) is actually very very good. Think they're part of the Beadles group. Easy to arrange a time for servicing, repairs done to a good standard, can book the courtesy car, etc.
For test drives you can always phone their head office who have a demonstration team (not sure if this is just for businesses or customes as well - worth a shot!).
Skoda are good as well, from my experiences with them, as are Ford. Renault & Mazda, would rather not comment..matched betting: £879.63
