Could I ask how old you are OP?
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    Quite.....

OP - At 18, I understood what finance was about, at 17, so does my eldest son...heck, even my 12 years old complex autistic youngest son does (but then he also knows about profit margins etc and a whole host of stuff which is beyond me, one bonus to him going through an obsession with The Apprentice)

I knew (mainly because I am a nosy begger), to read EVERYTHING that required my signature so that there was no chance of being conned/being unaware of an agreement.

Surely, you worked out that it was a finance agreement which would need to be paid when you were handed the keys and was able to drive away in the vehicle?
