British Gas Boiler Quote

  • Do NOT use British Gas, they are a complete rip off for this kind of work, and ignore their 'peace of mind, looking after your world' marketing BS.

My neighbour had BG do his boiler, £4700, left a mess behind including mixing mortar for bricking up his old flue directly on his block paving.

I had the same boiler fitted in my identical property by a reputable local plumbing and heating company for £2400, and they left everything clean and tidy and used a proper bricky to make good my old flue hole.

I had a quote from BG to install a new boiler, it was about £2700. Then I asked a local plumber from checkatrade (as many suggest here), the quote for the same job was £3400!!!!!!!!!! (both Bosch boilers, BG quoted for a bigger one).

I'm gonna check another local one, but it doesn't seem BG are that expensive after all!!

    Seems very high mate,
I was quoted around £3000 for install of a 30CDi and the supply and fitting of 6/7 radiators (one of which is about £350).

This is going from an old Baxi back boiler to the new one upstairs.

After the hepl I had here and the info I got locally, deffo go local mate

My 2nd local plumber still more expensive than BG, and I've already called all the locals in my area, last one I called was 10 miles away and he said it was too far!
