From the start, when Ive had headlights on, I have had oncoming drivers flash me.

Are you sure your not just driving around at night with only your parking lights on? It seems all too common for that type of small car.

Take it back to the dealer and demand everything is fixed for free and demand all the paperwork that is supposed to be with the car.

I don't think you've been sold a dud, just fobbed off with a terrible dealer.

I agree, take the matter up with Hyundai (UK) if the dealer will not cooperate ..

My one experience of a Hyundai dealer was so terrible I was put off for life.
  • I checked several times that I had my lights on correctly.

I have since found a forum for Hyundai I10 owners which is very helpful, and yes this is a common fault.

Trouble is I bought the car 100 miles from where I live ( cheaper in Essex ! ) so can I get it fixed under warranty at my local dealer garage ?

Hyundai have nothing to do with the sale of this car to the OP. They may sympathise with them, they may even have a chat with the dealer, but ultimately they cannot do very much. However, if the car was sold under the manufacturer's approved used car scheme, there may be certain things they can do, but only if it fell outside of their agreed terms. I would imagine that the pre-delivery inspection and service book issue is covered by these terms, but the OP will need to check.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

ANY repairer can fix it under warranty. But the paperwork issue is down to the selling dealer.

I'm not convinced that having a 5 year warranty on a car that has a number of recurring faults is better than having a 3 year warranty on a car that doesn't go wrong (eg my experience with Mazdas).

You clearly don't have a 6 diesel then

It is a 59 plate car, so still under Hyundai Warranty.
