I have a Dell desktop running Vista Ultimate SP2, in the past week I've noticed my internet speed has dropped considerably, I'm now only getting around 2.2Mbps, yesterday it was 0.7Mbps. My other half has a Dell laptop and he is getting our usual 6Mbps. We are both connected to the same router via wireless, the desktop is in the same room as the router.
I've run CCleaner, Malwarebytes and Glary Utilities, none of which have come up with anything. I've run Hijackthis, please could someone look at the log for me? Thanks.

Please could anyone help? I did get up to 3.8Mbps on Monday night but it's down to 0.2 this morning, my other half is still getting a consistent speed of 60
-
Its infected (And I can only assume someone allowed it through comodo)
TICK and FIX these -
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings,ProxyOverride = *.local
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Monitor] "C:\Program Files\LeapFrog\LeapFrog Connect\Monitor.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTTask.exe" -atboottime
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iTunesHelper] "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe"
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM QUICK SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
If anything was found then do the exact same but run a FULL scan:idea:0 -
It would run faster with avast and windows firewall instead of comodo/rapport/eset
If the desktop is next to the router, a wired connection would give more consistent speed!!

If anything was found then do the exact same but run a FULL scan
Thanks for the reply, I fixed the things you suggested in HijackThis, I uninstalled my older version of Malwarebytes, installed the new version and did both a quick scan and a full scan, neither of them found anything at all.

I have noticed that when I first switch the PC on, it doesn't connect automatically to the internet anymore, I have to do a "diagnose and repair" and click on "automatically get IP settings" to get it to connect, which doesn't always work. Has that got anything to do with it?It would run faster with avast and windows firewall instead of comodo/rapport/eset
If the desktop is next to the router, a wired connection would give more consistent speed
I need to have Rapport, my bank insists on it! I do plan to get Avast though when my subscription to Eset has expired. Unfortunately I can't have a wired connection from the desktop to the router. Because of the lack of electrical sockets in the room, the PC is at the other side of the room from the router and as I have a young child I don't want trailing wires around.0 -
Please run COMBOFIX
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
Shut down your anti virus
Follow the simple instructions it gives
Post the COMPLETE log it creates here (Split into sections if need be) ~ if there are loads of 'SNAPSHOT' pages then leave them out
If it comes up with a RENAMING error then RIGHT click the exe file and RENAME and call it QWERTY (Making the complete file name 'QWERTY.exe') Or SAVE as 'QWERTY' on download:idea:0 -
Insists or pushes it, I doubt it's mandatory, and it will slow your pc down all the time, not just when you are on a banking website.!!

Thanks for that, I've just rebooted the PC and I've got connected to the internet automatically, I now seem to be getting a speed of 6.1Mbps which is what I used to get Does that mean there was something infecting my PC and it's now gone? Here is the log:

Hows it running?
Hi again, sorry I didn't get back to you last night, we had 2 power cuts! After I'd run Combofix last night the PC was running as fast as usual, it connected to the internet straight away and I was back up to the usual 6Mbps speed. I rebooted the PC and the speed went down to 4. This morning it's at 5.7, and it wouldn't connect to the internet again so I had to do it manually. So I'm not sure if whatever infected it has gone or not!0 -
Whos your internet service provider?:idea:0
