Train tickets lost in post

It's now 8 days before my friend is meant to travel. Can a LBA be an email (I AM expecting that to be no, since it's a letter before action, but you know...)
Or can I email them saying that if they do not refund/replace before the 12th then I'll issue a Visa chargeback (unfortunately under £100 so no S75 protection).
Thanks! Getting worried now as it's only a week away

I should add I'm reluctant to send a letter because I wouldn't have thought I'd be able to get it there to give them 7 days. Or is it 7 days from the date on the letter?0

Result! Just got another response, they've said that if I order new tickets for the new journey they'll refund them.
Glad I've gotten a good response out of them. May have been a bit of miscommunication on my part as I wasn't after a refund, I wanted my friend to come and see me next weekend! At least it's all sorted now

Excellent
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

Congratulations and well done. Can a LBA be an email (I AM expecting that to be no, since it's a letter before action, but you know...)
It doesn't matter now but you coud have just scanned the LBA letter into your PC, attach it to your email and then send the email to the rail company.
Another option is to write the letter using MSword (or another word processor), attach the word document to your PC and then send the email.
I have done this loads of times without any probs. Also worth asking any company for a freepost address to save any posting costs.
Anyway good result and well done gain.0 -

Mildly fed up of spending 10-15 mins on hold to an 0845 number (only other number given on sayno is an 0800 number which apparently costs the same from an o2 mobile!)
You can use 0800 numbers at geo costs,(including your inclusive minutes from a mobile), by using a "dial through" number.
From a thread, (post #3), on the Saynoto0870 site, (thread location);- "As has been mentioned previously, the dial-through geographical numbers for use from mobiles are 020 0222 0900 and 020 0222 0700. Using one of these will allow calls to 0800/0808/0500 so-called "freephone" numbers. Charges will be as geographical calls, thus will often reduce the cost from mobiles. "

That's listed in the ReadMe sticky too, in Resources.

I remembered reading this thread when i came across something in an email i got from the co-op business travel.
Tickets requested to be despatched by mail, are done so at your own risk
I asked him to clarify and he said:
Tickets are non refundable if they are lost in the post, so if we send tickets out by normal 1st class post (no charge), it is at the customers own risk.
Although the OP got a happy answer do we know if the companies can legally do this?
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!0 -

No they can't, they are liable until the goods/tickets are delivered to the customer, they posted them so the contract is between them ant RM.
See post #2 above.
