Absolutely sick of getting data mined & spammed from price comparison sites.
MSE is a willing accomplice to these scam sites by actively linking to them making out they are a good thing & profiting from the click throughs!
And what do you get from comparison sites? well a LOT of bull$#^* to read through & then supposed 'deals' where if you are standing on one leg while facing north & whistling God save the queen on a Thursday you MIGHT save five pounds on an electricity bill...over a year...if they feel charitable...and if you convert to their religion or something.
All i need is a $#^*ing html table with the price per kilowatt hour for each one of these scum sucking utility corporations. THATS a $#^*ing price comparison site - you see? where you can COMPARE THE $#^*ING PRICES.
Anyone know of such a place? Theres gotta be someone out there as fed up with this pretending that we have a free market for gas & electric.
You know, if you ring these corps & ask them how much their juice is they'll only tell you how much one of their 'units' is, and yeah you guessed it - one of their units prices will almost certainly need a maths degree to convert it to a KWH.
Its time to put the utility corps, their watchdog & the price comparison scammers up against a wall so I can give the order to fire! Who's with me?

Why don't you just opt out of the marketing from these sites ? Works fine for me.
I read somewhere we have the most competitive Gas & Elec Market in Britain. His Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0 -
All you need to do is spoof the email address get an address near to your post code etc etc .
If you don't like how they work don't use them its easy enough to get the information from the company's web sites .
I would rather idiots where taken out and shot .

Yeah spoofing the comparison sites is fine but still doesn't deliver a clinical comparison experience.
I'd like the actual gleaned prices in one place...you know so I can COMPARE them easily. Hello?
I find your views on euthanasia offensive, I might make an exception for you because of them.Well thought out first post.

Wow, super genius solves his own problem. Seconded!0 -
If you wish to know how to protect your p.c. then I would suggest you use a more appropriate board/forum. Perhaps one that gives advice on p.c security and manners.
If you don't like the comparison sites then don't use them. Simply arm yourself with your usage in kWh and trawl through the suppliers websites to find the prices that appeal to you. Then you can calculate costs yourself, accurately and at your leisure.0 -
