as others have said i don't give mine any vit's.
but if they have been very poorly or seem to be run down ( ie getting one thing after another) i do give them a vit tonic to give them a boost.0 -
I also use Bassett's Soft & Chewy Early Health Plus Omega3 and get them on either boots or tescos three for two. xmum to; Two Boys (Non id twins)Two Girls (Id twins)0

My kids eat fairly well within the limits of what they like but every now and then get a large bottle of Minadex and give it to them bit like 'buildingwithlego' says as an insurance - kinda of feel that it should do them some good !
I am wondering though if anyone any more thoughts on the omega 3 for concentration and if there is any particular one better than others ? does it really make any difference ?0 -
As per my previous post, I only give them to my son, because he is a really bad eater. I have no idea why, as his sister loves fruit, and veg. He has them as I feel he's missing out, but I rarely bother giving them to my daughter.0

I've always given my children a multivit, at the moment they have the bassetts soft and chewey, my eldest has a sanatogen one as it's got added iron, and she doesn;t get enough in her diet.
Only one of my three children is a great eater! So it's an insurance that they are definatley getting enough of the right vitamins.0 -

Ooops, didn't read it properly- we only have the multivits.
Omega 3 supplements seem to have amazing power, *IF* your child has ADHD and other behavioural issues and you believe the findings of non placebo controlled studies of (IIRC) 16 children. I have heard but not read of studies on young, male prisoners who responded favourably to supplements but I'm not sure whether one can extrapolate from this to finding benefits for the majority of the population. I reserve judgement at this stage! They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -

i give mine tesco's own childrens multivits they are blackcurrent flavoured and chewable. also asda do the same in a chewable orange flavour which go down even better! have tried Bassets orange jelly type vits with omega 3 fish oil and they hated the taste!
ps. I offer my children fruit every day and veg every night on their plates. more often than not they pick at their veg and do their best to leave it, and so did I as a kid.:rotfl:0 -
When my kids were younger they got either Haliborange or Bassetts chewy ones...I used to send vitamin parcels when they went off to uni too0

I personally would be wary of giving extra vitamins if the children were already eating a healthy varied diet. Iron certainly can cause problems if overdosed.Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0
