Kids vitamins - which ones do you use?

Hi I use the wellkids:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Vitabiotics-Chewable-Comprehensive-Multi-Vitamins-Minerals/dp/B0046G8Z92/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1298912688&sr=8-2

I only get them when they are 342 @ boots though!

Was wondering if there are any cheaper alternatives out there with what i am getting now multivits with omega 3, iron & minerals & yes! they do need the additional iron etc.

Thanks in advance :)

I dont give my children vitamins, I make sure they get the right food instead.

  • Kimberley whilst i normally find your posts quite helpful, i'm sure the OP would find the above quite patronising and a put down. Not everybody has children who eat all the things we'd like them too. In fact as a child i ate everything i was given but i still remember my mother giving me sanatogen.

OP i havent got an answer to your question but i'm sure there are others who can help you and i think its lovely you care enough to want to support your children's health.

My post wasnt meant to come off as patronising and I apologise if it did.

I think people get too worried about giving supplements, in most cases they are not needed, its just a way of guilting parents into spending more money.

I also ensure my DS gets a balanced diet, but I also supplement his diet with Abidec multi vitamins and Omega 3. I find his concentration is better when he has this. It is for ages 1 - 5.

I don't give vitamin supplements, but I do encourage my kids to eat plenty of fruit and veg.

My DS is a poor eater, so I put vitamin drops in his food. I don't stick to any brand.

This doesn't reflect how I feed my kids though, as my daughter is a brilliant eater.
  • Thanks for responding Kimberley and i take your point, we parents can be easily guilt tripped!

I get the above for ds aged 9, he has had them since age 3 and I am sure the Omega 3 helps with his concentration.

Not sure how the Omega 3 content compares with the ones you have, but worthwhile looking in Boots at the packs to compare the next time you go. However mine don't have iron or minerals in them, just 100% of RDA of Vits A C D & E and 109mg of Omega-3 oil of which 100mg DHA, if that helps you compare with your packet.
    :hello:
  • We get those on 3 for 2 in Boots and they're delicious.
I give a vitamin with breakfast as 'an insurance', as my mum used to call it, even though mine eat pretty well and snack on fruit. I have one too because I like them :p
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.
