  • i started a doggy day creche in 2006 in an industrial unit lincenced for up to 25 dogs. all dogs have to be socialised as the idea of a creche is that the dogs are free to play together. i have found in the 4four & half years i have been running it very few fights broke out & they were soon curtailed. as i only look after up to 7 dogs a day now i gave up the unit 2 years ago & bought a house with over an acre of land for the dogs to play & a very large barnlike shed with heaters & beds for rest. you can see the creche on face book page-- paws a while friends. my charges are £16 a day for 1 dog but on booking for a full week the last day is free.i give discounts also for owners with more than 1 dog. hope this is of help to you. regards doreen

Thankyou Doreen. Can I ask if you gave the unit up because 25 dogs to juggle was just too many ?

  • hi i gave the unit up because the rent was so expensive thought the money was better off in my pocket. i had to get planning permission to do it from home & decided to semi retire but some days i have 10 dogs. it would depend how many people you want working with you per ratio of dogs. allthe best doreen
