In my area about £ 20 - £25 per day per dog. I'd offer a discount for more than one dog though as owning two myself I know how the costs can add up.

.. and I just want a room for me, Zara and 4 cats - for a weekend break ;)

OP - good luck with this idea, start where you are and then branch out to East London...LOL

LOL thanks but I moved out of London and didn't have plans to move back. Also am not sure my budget stretches to acres of London for the set up :)

Mutt is a git with other dogs and people, so my criteria would be anywhere that would have her!

Seriously though, she couldn't mix with other dogs, so something like a kennel but where I could drop her off just for the day while I'm working, instead of an overnight kennel stay would be ideal.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

can I ask, does anyone know what the current costs are for home day care, or a creche?

Near Bristol, our lab go to an exellent daycare, £7/day if it is 4-5 days a week, £8/day for 3 days/week and £9/day for 1-2 days a week.

40 to 60 dogs at any time, no barn but few old static caravans with a wood burning stove in winter,4 acres to run around and 4 members of staff, loads of old couches and granny type chairs. I find it an exellent value even on fairly average salary, it never cost more than £100 a month and it means I can have him socilised all day so when I come home he is relax and only need a small walk.

They only take 'good' healthy dogs and the dog owners have to wait in car park to pick them up so to avoid over exitment and barking.

When you pick him up after work all the dogs are inside and sitting in their chairs chatting like in a nursing home sitting room :rotfl:

Thankyou so much for that, some really fabulous ideas there. Interesting to see the owner has a rottie as I have a bullmastiff and bulldog and was wondering if this combi would put people off even though they are the gentlest of souls.

There are so many things to think of but I'm sure with all the ideas i've been given I could hopefully create somewhere to cater for everyone.
Funnily enough, the owner has just adopted a rescue Bullmastiff to go with her Rottie! They are amazing with the other dogs - the Rottie (female) tends to look after the other dogs - and is the only one who will play with the more boisterous ones. I think as they're used to seeing new dogs every day, it's given them good solid tempraments.

Our daycare is £10 - 15/ dog/ day (depending on number of days per week/ number of dogs etc). I plan for £20/ day for my 2 to go, which I think is more than worth it for the care they get.

There is so much variety in the dog breeds at daycare - from Collies to Boxers, a lot of Spaniels, Terriers, at least 3 labradoodles, 2 weimies (plus a puppy) Greyhounds, lurchers, a Newfie, husky-type and a dobe, plus lots of x-breeds and mongrels! Our place has got very popular over the past 6 months due to how well run it is - so there are always new faces popping up!

I'll PM you the name of the place (they have a FB page and website) so you can have a butchers for yourself!

LOL I bet they all have a fantastic time aswell. Those costs are very competitive and my dog would be booked in all the time at those prices.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I so wish there was one near me in Essex. We try never to leave our dog for more than 4 or 5 hours but it makes it so difficult if we want to go to say London for the day. We end up either paying someone to come to our house or putting the dog in kennels which is a pain - I don't drive so OH has to take time off work the day before to take him and then because they close so early he has to pick them up the day after our day out (if that makes sense). So we end up paying more for the dog having to stay in kennels overnight and OH losing money when he is not working.

My dog does not get on with other dogs so for me it would have to have kennels where he could be separate from other dogs (as long as he got a walk and some attention I would be more than happy)

Wawwwww, you are so lucky - would love to have some place like this at those prices nearby :(

Was paying more than double that for just one hour per day walk on weekdays - when I was working...

My situation is similar in that I go to London regularly but get back too late for day care so I end up having to have her sleepover and take the next day off work to go and get her so in a sense I'm losing annual leave and extra expense to cater around the sitters hours.
