I think i'm gonna do just that!
Can i use nero to back up all the data on my pc? is it just a question of burning the files on to a cd? - this is the first time i'm doing this so please excuse any dumb questions!0 -
Yes (as long as you don't mean making an exact image of your hard disc). Basically if you want to make a backup of my documents, it's a very easy step by step process in which nero will even compress it and automatically work out how many discs you'll need etc. Of course it is a propriety format and you'd need nero to re instate the backup if needed. The alternate is to just make data disks and copy files specified files across (which nero also makes very easy). What I do is on occasion make a complete compressed backup of my entire documents and then have separate discs for back up apps (in case of reinstallation) and files/docs I want updated/backed up more frequently."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Absolutely. Just copy the downloaded file(s) like any other file/document. I even have nero backed up onto cd specifically because it was a download version. Whenever I remember I update that cd when there are updated versions of nero to download. Just a timesaver if ever there's a need to reinstall everything from scratch (once had hard disk failure not so long ago, so know first hand it's better to be prepared for the unexpected)."She is quite the oddball. Fingers crossed i've never had anything happen to my hard disk but one never knows when things can go wrong and i'd rather be safe than sorry which is why i've taken some time out this weekend to sort things out - i have read and heard horror stories and don't really fancy being a victim! - i'd rather be a victor!!0

It's definitely worth it. After my hard disk failed the only thing I lost in the end (because of backing up) were a few days emails. None of which were important. The only hassle I had to deal with was simply getting new disk and then reinstalling stuff. Of course it would have been even easier if I had an external hard drive that made a complete image of my disc. But even then I wouldn't want to put all my eggs in one basket, still good idea to have actual cds and dvds around with your stuff on them."She is quite the oddball.
