Router help please

Good. Do you know how to access the BT test socket? It's behind the split faceplate on the master socket, you just undo the two screws and ease the lower half forward. If you don't have an NTE5-type master then just test from the front socket on the master.
PS: can't believe that TT haven't already asked you to do this though? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
They got me to take the front off the wall socket & plug the phone directly in there. I didn't have to call the number though. I'll give it a try.0

Did you hear any crackling when the phone was connected directly into the master socket?
Do you have login access to your router? Another thing to try is making a note of the attenuation, snr, abr, etc. when the router is connected normally and then compare this to the figures when the router is rebooted and plugged directly into the master socket.
It might seem a bit long winded but it's the cheapest and quickest way to find out if the problem is with your line or with the internal wiring.0 -
It was ages ago & I can't remember so i'll do the test again.
As for the rest of what you said - ????????
