I gave up with zooplus, after my house became infested with horrible little carpet beetles and their gross larve from a bag of dried tripe and ears from there!!!

Did you complain to them? Not sure if they were carpet beetles though? I quite often find tiny black beetles in the dog food cupboard, several people tell me they also find them. They usually go for the dog biscuits and you find lots of little holes in the biscuits.

I used to buy my dogs Orijen from them but gave up after a few problems, delivery of one order had to be chased up after a week and in another order they also sent me cat food instead of dog food, I'll never use them again far to much hassle.
  • I know that Zoo plus were once based in germany, is the UK centre just for customer services or are they a real firm with storage etc.

Never had any problems with them and not sure they are directly responsible for any bugs...

Are you a breeder? How come you get 10% off when on their website it says only 5%?

They have always given 10% off for a first buy, may be they have decided to stop the offer? I notice they are offering 5% off if you sign up to their eletter. If you go through top cash back you get another 5% cashback or £3 if you are a new customer. You also earn points to buy things on there. I think I got a box of dentastix and a toy last time as a freebie.

I joined Hills dog club on there too and got some packs of food as a free gift.

The larvae were in dried meat treats... Carpet beetle was the nearest thing we could find to the little !!!!!!s!!!

Hi i have recently experienced the same thing, what looked like woodlice, caterpillars and black beetles in two different deliveries one I believe to be the ostrich meat and the other the venision bits from Zooplus - I am guessing that they all relate to different stages of carpet beetle. I am absolutely disgusted. They didnt manifest straightaway it would appear the eggs are in the dried meat.

I emailed Zooplus about this at the weekend and asked if they have received similar complaints about insects in the dog treats - I got a refund and no explanation or confirmation that they are acting upon my email - which is what i wanted. Its a real shame as Zooplus have a good variety of healthy treats for dogs yet I feel that I cannot purchase from them again as they haven't dealt with my email seriously - they seem to think that issuing a refund will solve the problem??!!!

Try clearing all your cookies and internet cache, quickest way is free programme CCleaner which you can find on CNet or FileHippo (all are highly reputable). Or you can use a cashback site alongside the 5% discount.
