Not sure in what regard you mean "best network".

    As regards signal coverage?

Why pay £5 if you can get it for 19p plus extra £6 cashback through quidco?

    mobiles.co.uk/pay-as-you-go-mobile-phones.html

Am not sure that it's unlocked though.

Why are you so concerned about unlocked? For many phones free unlocking is not a problem.

Most CPW phones at the lower end come unlocked. You can buy one instore from 1p + £10 top up, or online.

Mobiles.co.uk are a CPW outlet, so should be unlocked.

    Don't buy from network direct.

I went to CPW a week ago for a cheap unlocked phone just to use up my various sims. I had 3 with approx £40. Wasn t just going to throw away or put in a drawer. I bought an alcatel ( the cheapest on offer in the shop ) for £3 plus i had to pay £10 for a sim. However i took it back a couple of days later as i cudn t get text messages to work nor could i work out how to add contacts - the girl in the shop couldn t either. So i paid another £2 and exchanged it for a samsung which is much better. Hth

Does anyone know if a sim stops working after a while if its not being used or do they last forever so to speak ?

CPW but they are not a network .
O2 have some high end phones unlocked dont know about low end .
Networks tend to lock their phones to themselves .

I think this depends on the luck and the provider:

...Some will cut a line after 6 months on non-chargeable action (outgoing call or SMS, data use or top up). Incoming don't count towards chargeable actions (obviously).

Thanks bought mobile Nokia 1800 for 1p + £10 on vodaphone Total £10.01. Hope to get £6 quidco cash back.

Also the phone as unlocked I was able to put another sim (Lyca) in it and works fine.

    Thank for all help.

I will buy another phone when the £10 credit runs out.
