SIM only for heavy texter??

Hi -

Have been with easyMobile, and having reviewed my usage with them I'm horrified to discover that I send around 1500 texts a month, which costs a fortune at 5p per text!

I make very few calls, and need to find a deal with lots of free texts for less than £75 a month

Anyone know where I should be looking? I have a handset, so don't need a new one.

Any help will be appreciated!

just get a cheap contract phone (with cashbacks) e.g. from e2save, here you wont get more than 200 txts per month, but what you can do is add bolt ons, where you get an extra 100+ txt per month for little as £5 etc.
  • Does it have to be sim only? no major advantage to doing that

T-Mobile FlexT 35 costs £35/month but gives you £180/month of "credit" on your account @ rates of 20p/min and/or 10p/sms resulting in 900mins or 1800sms a month or a mix thereof.

    FREE Motorola V3i T-Mobile FlexT 35 18month contract
13 months FREE line rental saving £455.00
Line rental is £35.00 per month. You'll receive £455.00 cash back from Buy Mobile Phones, paid in five equal instalments of £91.00 at months 4, 8, 12, 15, and 18. Monthly allowance which you can use anyway you want. Flext 35 gives you £180 allowance for £35 per month, equal to 900 mins or 1800 texts.

If you can keep yourself disiciplined, £175 initial term cost order via quidco for £20 extra and sell that V3i during the xmas rush for at least £80 on ebay resulting in £100 on top of the £455 cashback that equals £75 or less term cost for 18months of 1800sms/month for an average of £4.16/month max IF you are strict and on time and within rules for all the redemption cashbacks, there is no other way to get this good a deal without cashback redemption imho.
  • Thanks!

How much hassle is redemption? I can't find any info on the site

While I can see the obvious financial advantages, I'm not hard up (I work full time) and am not really that organised.

Have been looking at dot. mobile - I can get 1800 texts a month with them for £30 a month on a 12 month contract, with free phone (which I'll sell as you suggested) 1.5 months free and £10 cashback.

This seems pretty reasonable to me.

How about 3000 texts for £25 a month.

    Dolphin 18 month contract.

  • brazilian wax that orange deal looks better if you will go over 2000sms/month

However if 1800 is enough, the cashback conditions are:

    http://www.buymobilephones.net/store/info_terms.ihtml?id=12

6.3a. All Cashback claims will be paid by BACs directly into the bank account customers supply us with when ordering the mobile phone. This bank account cannot be changed so please make sure that you supply us with correct details when ordering your phone.

16.4. New customers of buymobilephones.net can now claim their electrical free gift in either of the following ways:

    1. You can now claim your electronic free gift as soon as you receive your mobile phone. Your phone package will include a claim voucher, a blank network contract and a list of acceptable proofs of address and proofs of signature. All you need to do is return the claim form with the completed and signed contract and one acceptable proof of address and one acceptable proof of signature. This must be sent within 28 days of the date of the connection of your mobile phone. Subject to stock availabilty we will then send your electronic free gift out within 7 days.
    2. or if you have difficulty finding the correct proofs of signature or address you can claim your electronic free gift by sending us your first two bills within 28 days of the date of the second bill. Bills received after this date will not qualify for their gift. Bills must show no outstanding money from previous bill and also show no changes to your tariff (e.g. T Mobile Flext 35 changed to T Mobile Flext 30). Please take copies before you send these bills to us as we will not be able to return them.

    Basically on a 18month contract:
on the 4th bill send in original bills 1-4
on the 8th bill send in original bills 5-8
on the 12th bill send in original bills 9-12
on the 15th bill send in original bills 12-15
on the 18th bill send in original bills 16-18

all originals, all via recorded delivery, never normal delivery, all within 14days of the bill number specified.

setup ALOT of multiple reminders once u have the contract and have worked out the dates and keep all bill paperwork and Buymobilephone paperwork vouchers and it should simply be a paperwork hassle every few months.
  • orange have a contract which is either £20 0r £25 which is 3000 texts, no phone calls included etc that suits people like you and me lol

Ahh, thanks. It's really hard for me to send stuff by recorded delivery, so this could be a problem. Have read other posts on this site where companies will wriggle out of the cashback/redemption offers.

    So confused!
