I am confused!! Do I gather that Shrove Tuesday is this coming Tuesday? I always thought it was something to do with Easter, which is *quickly checks calendar* not til late April.

Dilly has been collected; she certainly seemed to enjoy her stay with us. I need to download the pics I took now.

Trouble is, with her departure, there's a dog-shaped vacancy, which bloomin' BD thinks he can fill nicely.:(

Next canine guest isn't coming til 11th April - one I've not met before, Honey, a "very elderly" Cocker Spaniel.

    Anyways, I hope everyone's having a good weekend.:o

Shrove tuesday falls 47 day before Easter Sunday, and is the day before lent starts so was traditionally the time to use up food not allowed during lent (including fat, butter and eggs)
Pancake day is nearly always in Feb, but as East is so late, it unusually falls in March this year.

I've cut out dairy and wheat from my diet in the last 6 months so will be trying pancakes made with rice milk and summat, possibly ground almonds, this year.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Just flying in and straight out again...

I have done pretty much everything this week, with the exception of the bathroom, which I'm off to do in a minute.

Had a good time shopping in town yesterday with DD - bra shopping for both of us - she was measured again, and now has to get a 28E!!! That's going to be nigh on impossible, although Debenham's bless them managed to find two - we bought both. Then, she forced me to buy a pair of jeans, and a really nice casual shirt as well. :D I wasn't going to buy myself anything until I'd lost some weight, but I'm struggling wth that, and consequently have practically nothing to wear.

Off to France tomorrow with the school, for the week, so packing to do....

Be good all of you until I get back!

:hello:to all my special flylady friends. Love and hugs to lady-liberty, toots and lamewolf.

    - I'm sorry about your rotten day, and the damage to your new car, that is so upsetting.

Rhys now smelling lovely..Mind most water is on the floor..:rotfl:

Hot water on now for the rest, hubby can scrub the boys. Our bedding drying at the minute and then i'll get hubby's hair done, he's cut it but it's a bit of a mess (not that there's much left).

Toots well done on the sales. :T I put one item up and it sold for £24 so i'm chuffed just need to put more on now. Hopefully the CPN can sort hubby out, i knew it was coming so no real surprise to me or the CPN.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Hello! I have been flying a bit this week and managing to keep on top of the good work done last week! Today I have picked up (with the help of dad) a cage for the furries from a freecycler. It's a much better one for the girls than the one they are in now and retails at .............£99!!!!! It needed a good clean with the pressure washer and a going over with wire wool in places to remove some rust but, other than that, it's great :j Will aim to move the girls into it later tonight.

Toots - well done on the ebaying :T hugs and prayers for you as always :A

L-L - lots of thoughts and prayers heading your way; take care hun xx

pigpen - congrats on the debt pay-off; brilliant :T

sexymouse - sorry to hear about your bad day

But I usually do savoury pancakes as a main course - things I can bung in the oven on the day to bake. I've got lots of prawns in the freezer, and frozen spinach and cream cheese... I have vegetarians, non-fish eaters, fussy people and omnivores coming along...

I love cream cheese with spinach and mushroom :D or cheese and mushroom :D

Thanks for that, BB, and to Piggers also.
Don't think we'll be having pancakes though - I'm useless at making them, and tbh I don't really understand what all the fuss is about. Just checked the meal plan, and I have us down for egg'n'chips on Tuesday.;)

Also have two hanging baskets up (one out front and one out back) and a large hayrack under the kitchen window, a smaller one under the shed window. Managed to find another garden centre, too :) and spent on a few more plants. The muddy footprints across the kitchen are a bit if a giveaway though.

Now in process of recovering from finding the Bloke had put my prettiest cardie (red with white hearts, naff but I like it) in the tumble dryer and tumbled it for 4 hours. He has produced mint icecream from the freezer as an apology. I have explained once again that he isn't to touch any of my clothes ever again. Anyone want a now size 2 cardie?
