Evening all, loving the musical reminiscences! Roger Whittaker - I live just a few miles outside the town he said he was going to leave, although it is actually called a city. Lovely place, don't know why he'd want to leave it, but the song is nice. The Spinners - remember watching their show on a Saturday night with Mum and Dad, really versatile singers. They did a catchy number called Everybody Loves Saturday Night, and the lyrics were very simple -

    Everybody loves Saturday Night
    Everybody loves Saturday Night
    Everybody
    Everybody
    Everybody
    Everybody
    Everybody Loves Saturday Night

It had about a hundred verses all the same words but sung in different English dialects (eg Scouse - Wackers and Judies think Saturday Nights are gear!) and different languages, and you could not help but join in.

Val Doonican - ahh, the memories about Mrs whatsername to her daughter who had been caught cuddling the goat - she went away from the village in disgrace, she came back with powder and paint upon her face, she'd rings on her fingers and she wore a sable coat, you can bet yer loife she didn't get those from Paddy McGinty's goat!

But I draw the line at Max Bygraves (You're a pink toothbrush, I'm a blue toothbrush etc etc, kill me now before I sing any more...)

Oh, and back on topic - another NSD, a rare 'un but a good 'un. That makes 6 for the Nargle!

Time for a celebration cup of decaf, methinks!
