Yes no problem - because when you arrive you go straight to the gate and put the tickets in the turnstile. I've seen plenty of small 12 year olds anyway so I doubt they'd stop you at the entrance to check how old he is

    6. Sun Tickets may not be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount. Any further additional visitors accompanying offer ticket holders must pay the full admission price, at any admission Kiosk

Surely if you bought tickets in advance this would mean that it would not matter what you paid for them? What I understand is that there is no offer for children ie the discounts they have given in the past?

Yes you're right, there's no discount for children this time :( But if there's additional people and another offer (2 for 1 for example) - there's nothing to stop them going to the till to pay, while the people with the Sun tickets go straight to the gate.

That's what I'll probably end up doing - sending my partner and eldest daughter in with the free tickets, then using some other offer for me and the younger two.

For anyone needing extra cheap tickets (or just cheap tickets) you can print a voucher out Here for £18 Adults or £13 Children. You also need a copy of the Raring2go Magazine but if you don't have one, you can get one by sending an SAE (details on website).

    Voucher Valid 26.3.2011 until 24.7.2011. Excluding 19th & 29th June, 4th - 8th July, 11th - 15th & 18th - 22nd July

have just sent off my application for the free tickets but would like to know more about booking a hotel for the night.
in the pullout booklet it gives you a number to call to get your 50%discount but not sure if i ring now and they send you a code or something or how it works.
obviously i cant book a hotel till i know what date i have for the free tickets.
has anyone booked a hotel to stay at the same time as using there free tickets?if so hows best to do it?
    many thanks xx

    For anyone asking about how to get the hotel discount;
(providing it will work the same way as it did last year)
Wait until you get your tickets posted so you know what your day is, then phone the number printed in the booklet and just say you want to make a booking in conjunction with the Sun ticket offer.
Thats all i said last year and they gave me the discount no problem.
No proof needed of being a Sun ticket holder upon check-in either.
    So all very easy :)
  • Hi, anyone know if The Sun start sending out tickets as soon as they receive the applications? Or do they wait until the closing date of Thursday March 24 and then start to send them out?

Reason being, we've booked to stay in the Alton Towers hotel from 6-8 April so wanted to either do some "swaps" or hopefully be a bit jammy and get the tickets for at least 1 of the days we've booked.

Cheers for the update, I've just asked the question about when he posted his application so it might give us some idea as to the turnaround from The Sun. Will let you know when I get an answer.
