HERE'S how to get your FREE pair of tickets to the Alton Towers Theme Park, worth £79!

Five steps to a successful application

STEP ONE: Collect NINE differently numbered tokens from the fourteen that we'll be printing in The Sun and News of the World. The first token will be printed on Saturday March 5. Applications without the correct number of tokens will be void.

STEP TWO: Complete all sections of the application form after reading the offer terms and conditions. You MUST choose 5 date bands from the 11 provided, in your order of preference, in the spaces provided on the ticket application form. Applications that do not have the 5 bands indicated in order of preference will be processed last. We will of course do our utmost to allocate tickets from your preferred band. NOTE: YOUR TICKETS WILL BE VALID FOR ONE SPECIFIC DAY FROM YOUR CHOSEN BAND and are not transferrable. We regret that we cannot meet specific date requests from within selected bands.

STEP THREE: You MUST Include a self addressed envelope at least 15cm x 8cm with a 1st class stamp attached . Applications that do not include an SAE will not be processed.

STEP FOUR: You MUST write your 5 date band choices (in order of preference), on the bottom right hand corner of the envelope you send your application in (not your SAE).

STEP FIVE : Send your completed ticket application form, with NINE differently numbered tokens attached, together with your SAE to the address on the form. Allow 28 days to receive your tickets - although tickets for band A will be despatched as priority. Last date for receiving applications is Thursday March 24 and we cannot process applications received after that date. In the unlikely event that we are unable to allocate tickets for any of your five chosen preferences, we will contact you with an equivalent alternative.

I'd love to do this, but we can only go on like 1 day out of each band due to my others half shifts etc, so its a complete waste fo time, as I doubt anyone gets the days they actually want.

Princesswoo - we got dates we couldn't use last year too (i'ma a teacher so have specific hols). I managed to swap with someone on here for sates we could go. I know lots of people swapped last year and it worked well.

Bit disappointed to be honest - as there's no reduced price tickets for children included like they've had in the past. I think it was £9.50 for children with the two free adult tickets.

I would say go for it, then ask for a swap. Failing a swap do as my DD did last year, sold hers on ebay and bought dates she wanted also on ebay.

I got a saturday date last year in the band I wanted. It was red hot and although really busy was a great day for 'free'. Don't forget the parking charges though - ouch!

I had a bonus token arrive today so I only need to collect 8 more. I havnt done this promotion before so are the dates on offer usually during school time? We have a strict headteacher who HATES us taking kids out of school even if they have 100% attendance

Also can you combine other promotions eg: can I buy 2 kids tokens with Tesco Clubcard vouchers etc and get all 4 of us in using all 4 vouchers???

Hope someone can help!

No guarantee of getting tickets for the school holidays. Theres 11 date bands - of which you have to choose 5 in order of preference.

Only band G which is 25th July - 21st August ensures a definate date during school holidays. Other possibles are band A 30th March - 15th April (Easter holiday) and the last band 24th October - 3rd Nov which I think is a week off?
