Has anybody ever tried sending two families applications at once to get the same day - it is two different households so would this be allowed? I have heard people having success with joint applications for the £9.50 holidays....

The terms for Alton Towers says one application per household so you can certainly send from two different addresses for the same family. I applied twice a couple of years ago with the same details, but used my Mum's address. By a sheer stroke of luck, we did get the same dates - but its impossible to say "yes - this can be done again"

The problem with getting the same day is there's no choice with the Alton Towers offer apart from choosing 5 date bands from the bands offered. With the Sun holidays, you could pick specific dates and sites (especially if applying online) so it is a lot easier to book the same dates.

You could always apply twice and see what happens.

  • OK, I booked one of AT hotels last week (took the default booking option as it was the cheapest at the time)- no idea there was any promotion on with the Sun newspaper (don't read it). Nothing in my booking conditions about the Sun newspaper.

There is now a section in the T&Cs regarding "50% discount vouchers - again nothing about the Sun newspaper, putting 2+2 together this is what I have booked & I must now have a voucher to secure my booking .

I wasn't even aware I was booking a newspaper promotion, just taking the price offered on the website, it wasn't promoted as anything special - the further information just said it included breakfast :(

Can't find any information on how to get hold of one of these discount vouchers - can anyone help please?

you don't have to collect every token over the 14 day period. you need 9 altogether. i'm just buying the weekday editions as it's cheaper.

Tokens are printed until Friday 18th so plenty of time to get the correct amount.

Also if people want to start collecting & they haven't started, TODAY is the last day you can start collecting & have enough tokens.
  • are these just for adult tickets. or can they be used for child tickets too?

They're two adult tickets.....but if it was just you and a child, then you could use one for the child.

Incidentally Alton Towers only charges children's price for kids under 12. Twelve and over have to pay full price anyway.
