Problems porting number into Vodafone

Guys,

Hope I can get more help here than on the Vodafone CS line

I ported a quite valuable number into Vodafone PAYT on 18/2

The port worked, and I made calls on the SIM on the 19th.

All was well.

The next day the sim displayed the message 'sim card registration failed'

I phoned Vodafone CS, they told me the number was disconnected but couldn't tell me why.

They referred it to a manager.

Nothing happened. 3 days later I phoned back and was told the same story, I'll refer to a manager.

Yesterday, same story.

Today I got the number porting helpline. They have no record of the number porting in, no record of the original SIM number (even though I registered it on the phone with Vodafone when I gave them the PAC code and I even have a receipt from CPW for the SIM!)

I made calls on the SIM befoer te port, and after the port, yet there is no record of this either?

Is someone from VF trying to steal this number? It is quite valuable.

All I'm being told is that it's being referred and to wait 24 hours. Thats every day for 5 days now, which is 120 hours.

Has anyone experienced anytbhing like this before, or have any advise on how to proceed??

ON VF can really answer this. As to the port being successful, it may never have been as it is not the ability to make/recieve calls, but whether your ported number is/was shown to recipients when you called them. Do you know for sure it was? If not, the port may never have happened at all.

I have heard of this before, but on another network. When there is a serious breach of the terms / conditions (eg suspected fraud, network hacking etc) the account is suspended and customer facing staff are forbidden to discuss this with the customer. A letter is then sent detailing the network position.

Of course Vodafone may do things differently and there could be an entirely different explanation. Perhaps a technical fault.
  • The number ported for sure, I made a few calls to my other mobile so could see the ported number.

I've now spoken to several different staff in my quest to get this sorted, 2 have admitted problems with numbers being ported in and then getting cut off.

No-one has yet solved my problem, or called me back as promised.

Really disappointed with Vodafone CS to be honest, the whole 'I'll refer to a manager' line looking like a ploy to get me off the phone. Utter BS.
  • I left Vodafone because their CS was terrible, never gave a call back when promised. I was on contract and always paid in time but starting getting junk texts that were costing me so much money I noticed when bill came in. I left them after no help and took it further, took 6 months for them to look into it and I was refunded the payments in the end as it seems 'someone' had sold my number online or where ever to companies and I was being charged for the rubbish I was getting. Only reason they sorted it was because I went to trading standards.
The day I had my Beautiful son is the day everything came together for me. For someone so small he done so much and made me complete.
