Windows XP, how do I check if it is service pack 3 ?

I have a dell inspiron 531. This blue screen thing seems to come and go. "Crash dump/windows shutting down to stop damage to the computer". It can go away for months then suddenly come back. What the cause is I don't know but my hunch tells me its nothing to do with viruses. On my machine it can happen not just on boot but anytime. For instance I was watching the golf using firefox the other night and it happened. Why, who knows. Automatically Rebooted, fine ever since.

It is sp3, it's at the top of your log, but you can find it by right clicking on my computer, then properties.

run chkdsk of the c drive to check for corruption, start, run, chkdsk c: /R then reboot

most Dells come with a factory restore partition, the quick way of ruling out software and giving the system a spring clean would be to backup all your data to an external hard disk, and put it back to factory settings - instructions in manual, or use the recovery disc if you have one.
