what to do with our bathroom walls?

Hello
We are in the process of doing our bathroom. Hubby has plastered the walls after knockking a wall down (the toilet was in a seperate room next to the bathroom) we have opened the two rooms up to make it one big bathroom.
we have got a white suite to put in, which has been practically given to us :j
although his plastering is good, i dont know if it will look good if we just paint it. Is there any sort of bathroom lining paper we could put up then paint it?
We have thought about tiling it, but it would be too expensive.
Any cheapish suggestions welcome! :money:

compromise and half tile / half paint ?
plain white tiles you can get cheap from outlets instead of going to B&Q type places0 -
Why won't the plastering look good if you just paint it? You don't have to put up just all one colour of paint. If you are worried by mass expanses of 'boring' walls think about breaking these up with a nice pictures/shelves/cupboard unit - these sort of things can be bought fairly cheaply from places like Ikea.0

what i meant is that the plastering work isnt brillant as we have done it ourselves so isn't perfect. i love the idea of just painting the walls but want it to look nice as well.
we may tile the floor and half of the walls, then paint the rest.Make £10 a day challenge March 2013 £101.24 / £240 :j

There's nothing to stop you using ordinary lining paper in a bathroom.Just make sure you stick it well and use a good paint, maybe a dedicated bathroom paint.0
