Ok..so I'm only low end, but a big day of problems.Ordered the navigation edition LG optimus one last week from T mobile online..on contract..part payment for phone £10.21 monthly. They took the money and then told me during the week they had no stock. I said I would wait!
Phoned today to discuss again; I still said I would wait. Few mins later received an e mail saying they needed more information could I call, which i did. Then told LG optimus was now an end of life phone they would be having no further stocks. Offered a wildfire for same price which I declined. Went onto live chat at T mobile(where deal for optimus was still being advertised). He checked stock levels x3 times, confirmed stock WAS available and phone could indeed be delivered Tues. Rang back c/s!!
They told me again stock was zero and re-confirmed no more coming in. C/s appears to be the direct sales team!
Anyway...now offered motorola defy (which I quite like) and appears a better phone..£40 dearer..which they would write off.. on same tariff, offered me x4 months free so I could buy car cradle etc which was included in optimus package.
This would now appear to be a direct sales order rather than an internet one; so being charged £4.99 delivery. Also down £20 quidco.
Do t mobile usually use entrapment? Deal is still on line today..and false information regarding stock levels being told to customers. Feels like grab your money and then negotiate.
Or is this a good deal which I should shut up and take? Very confused.

You were offered a Defy for £10.xx a month? Seems like an ok deal but not a fantastic one (it costs about £270 sim free btw, the LG about £170). I'd want to be on a tariff with data since this phone will use data to when it does navigation.
You could also argue that by taking payment they entered into a contract with you and they haven't met their side of it. However if they say they don't have the handsets there isn't much you can do.
The monthly fee doesn't give you many minutes/texts - I assume you are a low user and won't go over this? Personally I buy my phones sim free and get the contract on its own - 24 months is a long time to commit to an Android phone at the end of its life cycle (both of these phones are).
You can get the same contract sim only with 30day commitment for £6. Work out which way of buying a phone suits you best.0 -
NEVER, ever take a phone you 'like the look of'. Your first choice was not available, so you need to have a tactile test on a real handset of the offered model. You may dislike it once you get it, and will find it a slog to return. Do your research first, as regretting your decision for 18 or 24 months is no joke.0

Thanks for help, contract also has unlimited internet..reasonable use, which I won't go over and yes I'm a low user which makes it hard to justify the much larger additional expenditure on a better handset unfortunately, damn it!0
